28th Annual SALIS and 18th Annual Elisad Joint Conference, September 26 – 30, 2006

In their first joint meeting, SALIS and Elisad convened in Newton, Massachusetts in 2006, for a program focused on substance addiction and misuse information from a global perspective. Abuse of legal and illegal drugs appears throughout the world and across societies, affecting the lives and work of many different people. Accurate information must also cross boundaries if alcohol, drug, and tobacco problems are to be effectively addressed.
The 2006 meeting was co-hosted by Eric Helmuth (Join Together) and Jessica Hinkson Desmarais (US Dept. of Education’s Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse and Violence Prevention). More than 50 people from the U.S., Europe, Canada, and Australia attended the conference. A partial list of Presenters included:
