2024 SALIS / AMHL Planning Meeting

Day 1 of this meeting will include Board members of SALIS & AMHL and members who wish to attend.

In 2007, SALIS hosted a special planning meeting. Unlike the fate of the dinosaur, we have survived! With so many changes, it is time to go back to the drawing board once again, this time, with our AMHL colleagues.
After many years of successful SALIS / AMHL Joint Conferences, it is time to take some time to plan for how, together, our organizations can remain relevant both to our patrons and our members who work in diverse settings. Special Libraries are struggling; many have been closed or downsized. Yet, our services and skills are needed more than ever!
In preparation, AMHL has conducted an environmental scan that included a survey and literature review to study the landscape in which libraries and librarians are working and connecting through associations.
