This manual was a collaboration among SALIS, CCSA (Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse) and CSAP (Centre for Substance Abuse Prevention), coordinated by the Project Cork Institute. It provided a basic introduction to the many facets of an information center and what is required to run a center efficiently and economically. It grew out of a collaboration of the Project Cork Institute, SALIS, CSAP and the World Health Organization (WHO) to facilitate the creation of information centres in developing countries:
