Capital Ideas: Revolutionary Solutions for Unconventional Times
SALIS/AMHL invites librarians and information professionals in academic, educational, and healthcare settings to submit an abstract for the 7th Joint Conference of the Substance Abuse Librarians and Information Specialists (SALIS) & the Association of Mental Health Librarians (AMHL).
This is a hybrid conference. Attendees may join the conference online and present via the WebEx platform or in person in Washington, DC, where on site presentations will be live streamed.
We welcome submissions from our members and others involved in issues related to mental health, behavioral addictions, and alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, opioids, and other drugs, and more broadly, information management.
The theme of this year’s conference dovetails from the theme last year. We continue to adapt to the post-pandemic world that requires new strategies and solutions for continuing our roles as librarians and information professionals. Consider sharing current challenges and the resulting innovative strategies, research, and projects that focus on adapting to new ways to serve our communities. Have there been changes in expectations? Are our services strategically positioned? Has remote work affected your service and visibility? Have new, innovative solutions for service delivery emerged?
All conference presentations will be delivered through the WebEx platform and will be recorded.
We are accepting abstracts for the following:
Posters: to be prepared on a PPT slide. Plan a 3-5 minute presentation.
Short Presentations: 20 minutes (15 minutes talk, 5 minutes for questions)
Long Presentations: 30 minutes (20 minutes talk, 10 minutes for questions).

Note: Due to limited time, half days, there will be fewer presentations than pre COVID pandemic years.
