SALIS membership is open to individuals such as
librarians, information professionals, technology professionals,
and others employed in or interested in ATOD information
dissemination and services who support the mission, goals,
and activities of SALIS. SALIS is an international organization and welcomes members from all
countries. SALIS members fill diverse professional
roles in the field of substance abuse information, representing:
Research
and academic institutions
- Clearinghouses and resource centers
- Hospitals and treatment centers
- Government offices and private service agencies
- Publishers and the media

Membership Types:
- Full membership. In addition to the benefits described above, Full members may vote in SALIS elections, hold elective and appointive
office within SALIS,
receive copies or notifications of selected government
publications, as well as other privileges which SALIS may
extend. Rate for 2012: $100 US
Some full members are eligible for discounted rates:
- Elisad members (in Europe): For European members of our sister organization, Elisad. Rate for 2012: $60 US
- Retired or unemployed: Rate for 2012: $50 US
- Students: Rate for 2012: $50 US (limited to 2 consecutive years)
- Associate membership. Benefits same as above except not eligible for the SALIS-L listserv, to vote, or hold elected office. Rate for 2012: $50 US

SALIS membership applications are handled by the SALIS
Home Office in Berkeley, California. SALIS membership is
based on a calendar year. Members joining after the first quarter
of a year should contact SALIS Home (510-769-1831; salis@salis.org
) for a pro-rated membership rate. For renewing members,
payment must be received by January 31, 2012
to continue benefits without interruption. For more about membership, refer to the Membership
