SALIS (Substance Abuse Librarians & Information Specialists) is an international association of individuals and organizations with special interests in the exchange and dissemination of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug (ATOD) information.


33rd Annual SALIS Conference May 3 - 6, 2011


Save the Date! Planning has begun for the 33rd Annual SALIS Conference, which will meet in Kansas City, Missouri on May 3-6, 2011.  Laurie Krom, Director of the Addiction Technology Transfer Centers National Office (ATTC) will host. The conference theme and a call-for-abstracts will be posted soon, along with other details as they develop.

Each year, the SALIS Conference gets better and better! Start planning now to join us next year in Kansas City -- located in America's Heartland, and boasting a rich tradition in America's history.  Here's a little something to get you thinking about Kansas City: Enjoy!


New Officers Elected to the SALIS Executive Board
New Executive Board officers for the 2010-2011 year were announced in New York. Meg Brunner takes over as Chair, with Jorunn Moen named as Chair-Elect -- our first from outside North America.  Laurie Krom replaces Barb Weiner as Treasurer, Christine Goodair continues as Secretary, and Members at Large are Shirley Dellenback, Dan Lawrence, and Diane van Abbe. Julie Murphy will provide sage advice as Past-Chair. Congratulations and good luck to our new Board!

We have joined the world of social networking! With a new page on Facebook, we hope to extend our outreach -- especially to the wider ATOD and Library communities. Our new LinkedIn group gives SALIS Members an informal place to connect with each other. Spread the word!
